My walking stick needs replaced, any company recommendations.
I personally use a walking/hiking pole with a strap so if or when I fall I’ve still got pole to hand. I walked the West Highland Way with that pole albeit 14 years ago. But really the choice is up to you and your needs
Hi Redbabe1
I have a fab walking stick from Cool Crutches, they do some great designs and different aids too… I have what I call my Off Roading ferrule which is a heavy duty non slip one that I bought to help me walking on a beach one time and I’ve kept it on the stick as it gives me confidence when I go out.
I have a great attachment which fastens to my stick and has a hook to put over a chair or counter top to stop it falling. It’s all on the Cool Crutches website if you’re looking around, it suits me well ![]()
Good luck, I’m sure you will be given lots of really helpful info on this forum to help you with your decision.
Take care
I have a Switch stick, which folds down into a canvas bag when not needed. Not the cheapest ever, but after a couple of bounces off the floor, I decided I ought to get a stick. Look them up on the internet (I don’t think this site likes advertising… but https://switchsticks.com/)
