Hey there I have been recently diagnosed being only 19 and I’m trying to understand more about it. I just had a relapse (tingling on my right arm) and soon was diagnosed. I’m okay now and don’t have neurological symptom (very lucky I know). I have started with tecfidera and seem to be handling well. I just wanted to know if it’s normal if some days I’m feeling with little energy, especially in terms of poor concentration and just lack of motivation in general. I don’t think I’m depressed or suffer with anxiety. Sorry for all the questions and thanks for those who will read that and will have the patience to answer
Hello
Normal is a contentious word with MS.
You have to adapt your idea of normality although at the tender age of 19, you may well carry on as normal.
The title of your post Overcoming MS (I read it wrong) is the title of a brilliant book by Professor George Jelinek. It was offered free of charge when I was diagnosed. see if you can get hold of a copy. I just looked at his website and they have free downloads. It is very upbeat, lots of small ways to adjust your lifestyle. Good luck

It’s lousy having the diagnosis so young, regardless of having few relapses and few symptoms. MS is a bit like a spectre peering over your shoulder all the time.
It sounds like you are experiencing fatigue. This is different to tiredness, it can be a bone crushing numbness that floors you. unfortunately it’s very common among us with MS. Have a look at https://mstrust.org.uk/a-z/fatigue The MS Trust in general is a good place to find information about MS.
Good luck
Sue
Hi, Ive only recently been diagnosed but apparently ive had ms for 22 years and i would have been early 20s when i had my first symptom- ive had relapses over the years but they have not been linked and i have always found a different reason for them. Hopefully you will have long periods without any relapses, good luck and take care dont let ms define you
