Wow, what an adventure!

It was although as a child I was quite unaware of just how much of an adventure it was.

In those days, the Vietnam war was spilling over into Cambodia and the King was allowing the country to be used as a route to supply the Vietcong. The American and British Embassies had been attacked ( i remember seeing burnt out British and American cars) and there were very few westerners in the country.

I think my parents must have been brave and/or a little nervous.

Quite incidental to the war, the Hospital was short of beds so I was put in the ‘Queen’s’ room - not luxurious but it was big and had its own bathroom
