Just out of interest to myself, how many of you here had clear MRI scans before being eventually diagnosed? And how long did that take? Thanks J x
I finally got the diagnosis confirmed on Thursday and no my scan didn’t look clear. First neuro says yes something looks not quite right, sends me for MRI. Second neuro says lots of lesions looks like ms. Third specialist ms neuro diagnosed ms. Sounds quick but the first appointment was September, MRI and lumbar puncture in November: 2nd appointment in January when told he’s 99% sure it’s MS; 3rd appointment in March and I now have the diagnosis.
I was diagnosed two weeks ago. I was sent for a mri scan by my eye consultant. The mri results came back with several lesions so I was referred onto a ms neurologist. Who confirmed I was suffering from ms. Said he thinks have benign ms since 2009

I was diagnosed in December after an MRI in March and another with dye in June - I’m not impressed with how I was told but it was out of the blue and totally the opposite of what I had been led to believe it was but that’s another story! Didn’t have a LP or two episodes of symptoms just the two MRI’s.

I haven’t been told in person, just copied in to his letter to the referring non-ms neurologist.

Hi, Thanks for the replies guys! The reason I ask is that I read the other day if a woman who was symptomatic but had clear MRI and LP, but went on to develop visible lesions on MRI. Interesting! J x
Might have got a better indication if you posted this question in the Everyday section as this section has a lot of undiagnosed readers and I think diagnosed users may not tend to view it as much.
