Thinking everything is ms related

How do you deal with this?

I’ve just been diagnosed and mri showed active lesions in the brain. (No visible spinal ones this time though!)

But now I’m hyper aware of every feeling. Some are obviously ms related like the buzzing, l’hermites and tremor.

But sometimes I’m like am I falling asleep exhausted because of ms or because I have two kids under four?
Yesterday I was having tummy troubles and constipation but they are better today.
I’ve been dizzy and nauseous all day today.

But everyone has stuff sometimes don’t they?

It can be a bit weird. Sometime stuff is MS related and sometime just a coincidence or feature of the model or just getting older. It is hard to know when to panic or when to relax and go with the flow. I once phoned my MS nurse thinking I was starting a relapse and going blind, this turned out to be a painless migraine which went away very quickly.

If it’s minor, I call it old age. If it’s major, I blame the MS every time. It’s going to get me in trouble one of these days.

If you’re falling asleep exhausted, it’s because you have MS AND small children! I am so glad I’m far past that stage.

Hello

@Norasmum is quite right. 2 children under 4 plus MS is utterly exhausting. But you can learn to manage your fatigue levels regardless of their ultimate cause - have a look at Fatigue | MS Trust

It is certainly true that once diagnosed with MS, you do tend to blame MS for everything. But eventually you’ll relax over that and even to blame other things for MS symptoms.

Thank you both.
I was completely whacked out today! And I barely did anything! My parents cooked lunch and occupied the kids and I just felt like I’d hit all wall.
Feeling back to a more usual level of tired now.

Be kind to yourself, and don’t worry if you have to take a little time out to recharge.
I find taking lots of small breaks really helps
