The sun

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else feels so much better with the sun. Im pretty sure that most people do. My symptoms get a lot better. I was just wondering what it actually is that the sun gives that that is so beneficial. I have a theory that it is either serotonin or testosterone. I know that both are produced by the sun. I’ld be really interested to know what other people think. I’m getting both of these levels tested and then I am going to get retested during the Winter months. I have had my Testosterone tested and it is borderline low, so it would be interesting to see if it has gone up.

Thanks,

Adrian.

hi adrian

it’s lovely to have some sun for a change.

i used to sit outside in it all day at one time.

now an hour is enough.

for me, i don’t think about seratonin or testosterone but it’s so lovely to get Vit D3 from it’s natural source.

enjoy it whilst it’s here!

Isn’t it more likely to be Vitamin D?

I agree with Sewingchick probably vit D however my level is good at 97 but I also feel very good in the sun, I feel like I’m recharging my batteries but hate winter and the cold. Sun also raises our serotonin levels( the happy hormone)

Hi Adrian

Unfortunately, I feel worse in the sun (well after about 30 minutes anyway). My hands swell up and hurt and I feel like the Michelin Man! I do take Vitamin D tablets though every day, to supplement the actual sun as I can’t stand it for very long

I think I’m destined never to holiday anywhere warm & sunny ever again!!!

complete opposite - I never sit in the sun - my idea of hell is sitting on a hot beach all day.

If the temperature exceeds 75 I’m uncomfortable - over 80 I’m knacked.

Thanks for your replies. Interesting. I personally don’t think it’s vit d3 as I take loads of the stuff, 5,000 iu during the summer and 10,000 iu during the winter. My levels are very high. I may even be approaching 200 nmoles/ml. However a few days in the sun and I feel so much better, my symptoms get a lot better.

Off to Greece on Sunday, so I will be able to test my hypothesis in more detail. He he.

Hi Adrian

We have just returned from a week in Ibiza. Whilst there, most of my symptoms disappeared, apart from a tight/tingly forehead. Felt so much better!! Been back a day and the pins and needles have returned in my hands and face! Stress free holiday worked wonders!! Came back to cold, wet weather!!

Thanks

Sam
