Block quotes - can anyone help me learn how to use them, please?

I’m always really impressed when someone uses block quotes in their replies. I think it’s such a good idea and I would love to know how to do it.

The fact that they are used pretty rarely suggests that I’m not the only one who just doesn’t know how to do it, so I thought it worth asking the question.

Please can anyone help with some step-by-step advice? Thank you.

Alison, is the above what you’re after?

I simply highlighted the text, which then appeared coloured with a box popping up above offering the options to ‘quote’ ‘copy quote’ and ‘share.’ It’s straightforward from there.

Try quoting something from this reply… it can easily be deleted.
