Tecfideria opinions

I know what you mean Paolo i hate having to wait but the delivery was the only option available.

I am starting on the reduced dose of 120mg capsules twice a day for 7 days. Then it is 240mg capsules twice a day.

I am due to have a blood test after one month, Then 3 months and then it will be every six months.

The way you started was a lot more gradual. Pleased it is working out for you.

Hi,

I received my first batch of Tecfideria early this morning. So i was able to take my first Capsule after my breakfast.

I had two slices of toast with lemon curd and then two boiled eggs with two slices of whole meal bread.

Patiently waiting on it - read some reviews on web pages and some folk had poor enough reactions to it but I know a fellow MSer on it and she says its a good job, feels great on it.

Iā€™m pleased the waiting is over for me as i had two relapses last year and i am still recovering from the last one.

I took my first capsule at 9.15 and around 11.30 i felt hot, By 12 i had a red face and neck. The top of my head felt like i had sunburn.

By 1pm i was back to normal. I was quiet surprised the side effect kicked in with the first capsule.

For some reason i thought it would take a couple of days for the side effects to show.

an aspirin 30 minutes before your Tec is supposed to combat the hot flushes.

i take an aspirin daily anyway and so it was ā€˜mehā€™ for meā€¦

at around week 3 (so when i was taking three Tec daily) i got patches of uber itchiness. apparently these too come under the category of ā€˜flushingā€™. simple off the shelf (not even over the counter) anti-histamines sorted that out in no time.

the itch episode only lasted on and off for a couple of days. now, every so often i feel a very faint prickliness in my face. it lasts no time at all and i am loathed to assign blame for that on the Tec.

enjoy!

Thanks for the tip Paolo

The flushing hasnā€™t been as bad this evening.

I woke up this morning with indigestion, itā€™s my third day today of the 120mg Tecfidera. I had some goats milk yoghurt and a small orange that seemed to settle the indigestion. Then an hour later took my Tec tablet with breakfast.

Hi everyone. Iā€™ve been on tec for just over 9months. The first couple of months I had more side effects but now I only get the odd bit of flushing and nothing else  have any of u with sore stomachs etc been advised to take Asprin 30mins before taking tec? This has helped a great deal of ppl to beable to stay on tec as the stomach probs can be horrible in some people. I was lucky I didnā€™t have any. Mainly down to my Ms nurse had advised me before starting to take Asprin in the inital start up period. Along with eating peanut butter and toast. I took the Asprin for 2weeks then stopped and no stomach issues at all. Obviously always check with ur gp or nurse before taking Asprin but to me it was a godsend and ive had a great experience on tec. I feel like the new me, no needles no side effects and things can only get better. Good luck to u all I hope all goes well for uz too xx

i understand that the aspirin is believed to assist with the potential for flushing as opposed to gastro-effects.

but ultimately, if it helps, itā€™s good!
