Symptom or not??

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all doing ok?

Can I just ask if anyone has periods where you are just not with it??

I left work on Wed eve feeling fine, got out the lift and started feeling as though the ground was bouncey and moving away from me. I got to the station and got on the train and the whole journey home I just felt zoned out and not with it at all. By the time I got home I was starting to feel OK but i eally scared me.

Just wondered if this was something anyone else had, had.

thanks

Hi K, sounds very much like MS fatigue to me.

MS fatigue isn’t like normal tiredness. It can affect your brain very much like you describe… a feeling of being drugged or in a sort of dream world.

Do you work in front of computer? I used to get it badly when I was working and sitting in front of computer all day. It’s brain fatigue.

If it happens again, take it as a warning that you’ve been overdoing it and need to rest.

At least if it happens again you’ll know what it is and won’t be so scary.

Hello Pat,

Yes im a secretary so staring at the pc all day. I had done a long day that day aswell. Thanks for replying, Ive had fatigue hit before but never like that so was unsure of what it was.

I’m not diagnosed but I call it the “cakewalk” sensation after the fairground ride that I never liked even as a child.(the bouncy earth part)

I’m still off sick, so I am learning to “stop” before that happens this week…I pushed on and suffered the consequences last week.

Pat’s right but my concern is - what do you do when it comes on and you’re at work? I’m really hoping to get back soon.

I wonder if I could install a divan in one of the spare offices??? (no i’m fairly serious)

Hi Gillian…maybe that would be seen as a reasonable workplace adjustment…powernap

well thankfully that is the first one ive had in 5 years …ive hit the wall a few times and just known ive got to sleep and headed home.
