“Suspicious for ms” and triple vision

Hi all,

I’m new here - despite lurking since first being told my mri results were “suspicious for MS” back in Sept.

I saw the neurologist for the first time today who confirmed my mri results are suspicious and has now referred me for a spine mri and lumbar puncture.

However, my presenting symptom this time round was loss of vision in my right eye with severe pain behind eye and on eye movement for about 4 weeks. After this time the pain improved, and I have been told that my vision has improved a lot too, but I have been left (5 months on) with what feels/looks like triple vision in the bad eye. The neurologist today told me that this is not a symptom of ms but is probably still neuropathic (and might be rheumatoid).

Anyone else had this? I am worried now I am approaching an ms diagnosis alongside some other neuro problem too :see_no_evil::see_no_evil::see_no_evil:

Gah - any help, advice, similar stories appreciated. Thanks

I had Optic Neuritis, just like yourself. It literally took me about 9 months to regain my vision in one eye, I had lost my sight completely. There is hope. I regained about 80% of my vision, although I am kinda colourblind in that eye.

They want to give you these tests because they want to help you. Did they give you blood tests? It can be anything, so they go through a list of tests, so that they determine what the problem is.

Great to hear you recovered most of your vision! I’m trying to stay hopeful too. Yes, I’ll be getting bloods done too. Everything by the sounds of it!
