Supra pubic catheter finally in.

After being on the waiting list as an urgent referral far 19 months I finally had my operation to stick a suprapubic catheter in yesterday! There’s been lots of blood, but the relief of not feeling like I’ve got a cheese wire trying to cut my prostate open is amazing. Annoyingly I’ve developed quite a gut so I can’t see the damn thing

I think it might take a while to work out what my clothing options are, fortunately I’ve lost so much weight around my hips that all of my jeans are really baggy around the waist so they should be fine to wear.

Well good luck with that @cymroglyn, I had one fitted, at first it was amazing, no more getting up 3/4 times a night, as my hubby could attached a bag. clothing wasn’t too bad, I could still wear leggins and jeans. But sadly for me after a few month’s it kept bypassing, 9 times in one day, urine everywhere, washing machine on the go most of the time, so I decided to have it removed as it was too much hassle, the urologist said it was a problem with the catheter end and until the company got it sorted this would keep happening, I tried different ones. At some point in the future I know I’ll have to have another one fitted, just hope they get things sorted, as I did find it helped a lot. I have Botox injections every 5mths, still had them when this fitted.
I really hope you get on well with it and I’m thinking you’re in Scotland, so may have different suppliers. Good luck and I hope the jeans work out, take care.
