Strange!

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a relapse (first one in about 4 years!), which has left me off work for the past 4 weeks. The strange thing is that about every 2 minutes my speech becomes slurred, I cannot walk (well I can but I’m all off balance) and I get double vision. It’s a bit like my brain shuts down for a few seconds. I’m back to normal after 25 seconds (I have timed them!!).

Has anyone else had this?

I took a 5 day dose of steroids when I first started the relapse.

Thanks,

hiya

i have had similar, not exactly as u describe.

i guess it all depends on where the plaque is and how hard brain is trying to reroute the signals/messages.

interesting how u describe brain shutting down for few seconds-exactly how i describe it too!

steroids didnt help btw-have had them x3 over the years-dont help me at all, in fact make me more poorly

take care, u r alone with ur ms, but not alone with the strangeness of it all!

Yes I had this in my last relapse. I found it really hard to explain but you’re right, it was like my brain shut down. About every five to ten minutes I would suddenly feel a strange rushing sensation then my left arm and leg would spasm and I couldn’t speak for about 20 seconds. I had 5 day steroids and they did work.
