GP has put me on 7 day course of Prednisolone - 40mg dose.

Is it OK to stop cold after the 7 days are up? The info in the pack of tablets talks about coming off gradually. Does it matter if I am only on the for such a short time?

You folk will know more than my GP :slight_smile:

Steroids can be a horrible drug. My experience of them was ACTH some 38 years ago so cannot advise you about the many synthetic steroids now manufactured.

Intravenous steroids must be reduced gradually; unfortunately I do not know about the tablet forms. See http://www.mult-sclerosis.org/steroidtreatments.html

I am looking for a little advice please!

I have been suffering from an accute ms attack since August last year and hospitalised twice. I was treated both times with iv prednisolone, with a tail off on the last visit with oral prednisolone. I have now finished all medication and finding my mobility a real struggle as my legs particularly feel very wooden.

Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so any idea how long this withdrawal slump will last?

Any advice greatfully received!!!
