spellcheck thinks i can't spell my name?!

my name is wendy, it’s not an unusual name, i don’t spell it oddly, but there it is with a wibbly wobbly line under it. i know i can turn it off, but i’m paranoid now, as apparently i keep spelling things wrongly. help me, i’m drowning!

wendy x (damn)

My windows phone can spell both my first and last names. But it always put a capital letter at the beginning of both - which is fine unless I’m trying to put in my email address! grrrrrr

I would have thought Wendy was a name that spellcheckers can manage. The one I use for web pages can cope! yay!!!

There are a few other oddities with common words. It doesn’t recognize “checks”, for example - or “recognize”, spelt with a ‘Z’.

I thought it would, as it seems in some respects to be rather biased towards American English, which tends to favour the ‘Z’ spelling. I’m sure it’s at least optional, and not wrong.

It’s also marking: “biased” wrong! I suppose it wants “biassed”, which is definitely wrong! Sure enough, when I intentionally misspell it like that, it gets the all clear.

Shame the people who set up the dictionary didn’t have…well, a correct dictionary!
