I hope it’s ok to post here, I don’t have a diagnosis yet and my neurologist is on holiday too…
today has been a challenge. Woke up with stiff hips but was managing ok taking little wide steps to get things done. Then my neck started to ache so I had a shower thinking th warm water would help it. That was a stupid idea as then my neck went into a spasm that’s soooo painful running down one side into my shoulder. I took some baclofen and then some diazepam to stop it and that eventually worked. Trouble is now my legs are like jelly and I can’t stand up.
it’s all such a balancing act, trying to get drugs to work in one part of your body without affecting another part the wrong way.
Has anyone else had spasms in their neck, it was a bit like a ms hug but in my neck. Horrible!
Hello Oakdoor
both baclofen and diazepam are muscle relaxants therefore your muscles are double relaxed and couldn’t support your body weight.
Hope the spasms have stopped now.

Plus , if you have to consciously balance to stay upright in the shower this also will make your legs tired. (in my experience)
As tempting as a warm shower may be, it frequently causes sudden weakness in my legs.
were you told to take both at the same time? Gosh i have spasms or whatever they are called i dont take anything, i find if i move about, stretch, bend limbs etc manually it releases the tensions, or even a heat pad. taking both baclofen and diazepam would have had me in a coma ha ha. My daughter takes baclofen for her fibro. she said it makes her feel weird?
honestly i am light weight with drugs. I have one 2mg diazepam at night which help a bit of the night time spasms and i wear a cage over my legs so i don’t get warm in bed which makes things worse.
Having a warm shower is not a good idea it can make your overall fatigue worse which means you are then in danger of falling.
muscles are a pain for sure lol. I have had the MS hug recently thought i was having a heart attack, but my trusty old heat pad took 2 days to get it to relax lol.
i have 2 heat pads incase one goes.
xx hope you feel better today. xx
