Hi all I’ve been injecting Betaferon for almost six months. I thought I was coping quite well with it but lately I’m finding myself struggling a bit. I’m so fed up of feeling sore in the places I’m doing it. By the time it stops being sore and tender it’s time to inject there again. I had a bad reaction come up on my arm, I asked my nurse about it and she just said unfortunately its one if those things that come with injecting. I was just wondering how you all get on and if you’re sore for a few days after? Thanks, Emma xx
Hi there,
It is annoying when you feel sore at injection sites…Do you change the sites on a regular basis so they have at least a week before you inject at the same place again? At first i found injection on my legs easy but they started to get sore and now i keep a diary ahead of time so i know where next to inject…it helps when you let the sites rest…ice pack after injecting also helps and decrease the pain.
hope it gets better soon, dont hesitate to write if you have more question since i have been on injections for a while now.
take care
C
Yep I rotate my sites and keep a diary too. My legs were the same, fine at first but now they get sore too. The only place I don’t have trouble is in my lower back/bum. I think I’ll give an ice pack a try. Thank you xxx
My neuro told me that it is best to ignore the arm as that tends to course bad reactions…
I got bruises sores after 6 years of using rebif and it ended up to be a skin reaction It can happen some time after taking it too.
My doctor said that it is one that has alot of alcohol in it which can course a reaction too.
When I showed this to my neuro he put me on something else, so call your neuro and try and get in to see him/her asap.
Good luck
