For the past few days I feel like I have been hit by a bus. Sore all over but the fatigue has been a killer. Just can’t stay awake. I thought I was just paying for a busy christmas until I got a very painful right eye today. It is so sore, sore to touch and sore to move. I do get bad eye pain with a migraine but I have no headache and it’s usually both eyes. I don’t want to waste my time going to gp if not needed. What do you think? Thanks in advance
Seasonal greetings. We each have our own version of MS,but at the moment lots of us have many heightened generalised symptoms, brought on by the festivities. I reckon the seasonal exertions could be playing a part in this new nasty, which could be optic neuritis, not known for its fussiness about affecting just one eye.Paying for Christmas will be right and coming out of orbit will help and if the kids go to school that’ll be a factor too.Have you got a snotty nose and or the’collywobbles’(not too technical) ?
I wonder what the GP could do to help apart from prescribing a short holiday, something for the pain,or doing a spot of house work. You’ve got a good attitude and if you use anything for the migraine, now would be good, otherwise time may be the only thing which helps.
Good luck,
Wb
Thanks for your reply. So I have been admitted to hospital and have been put on IV steroids. They think it’s optic neuritis but have to wait to see consultant on monday. I’m a little upset about the steroids as I have just shifted the weight I put on after lots of steroids last year. Lindsay
Hello Lindsay,
Sorry to hear you’re in hospital, hope the steroids help and the pain disappears. Worry about the extra weight later on, it’s the getting better that’s important. Thinking of you.

Thanks Janet. Unfortunately I’m feeling worse. Havent seen the doctor yet today but my legs are now like jelly, tingling and generally feel annoying (this could be from the steroids) and on both my arms, just beside my wrists I feel like someone is squeezing them
Hey Lindsay - hope you are feeling better. Are the steroids helping you yet or still making you feel lousy? Quick recovery hugs Min xx
