PS Crazy Chick…all of the bits that connect to battery have been checked and are all clean. Pat xx
l had a problem similar to this - where my scooter would stop suddenly - and would often start again once l had turned it off and on. A neighbour fixed it - and it was the strap connecting the two batteries that had failed. Tramper sent a replacement out straightaway - and said they had never heard of this part failing before - They haven’t seen the places l get to with my scooter!!
Pat- l would rather be stuck in a ploughed field than crossing a busy London street.
If my battery isn’t dropped in correctly it does this stops key off and on then it’s fine till it hits a bump so ts shake the battery pack to seat it right .
Looks like you have a bad connection somwhere you need someone who no what there doing with a meter to check things out properly
You don’t want to be getting stranded in the the rain or worse stuck at home unable to get out I have an insurance policy to cover all this .
Update: I bit the bullet yesterday and bought a new scooter!
Decided that this scooter had given me the same trouble over a couple of years and each time I had to pay a call-out fee etc.
I really like this model though and found it online brand new for £699…it had been £1,400 when it first came out and price as dropped as it’s now considered ‘old school’ and not being made anymore.
It’s arriving Friday and even though it’s same model and same colour (grey) I’m still excited!!! I did get sick of feeling nervous it would breakdown every time I went out.
It’s a Roma Shoprider Paris if anyone is interested.
Love to all,
Pat xx
Good for you Pat, there’s nothing worse than being frightened that your ‘wheels’ will let you down.
Slightly cooler here today, but still way too hot for me.

Good to know you’ve got a new set of wheels Pat. I know how much it means to you I’m still waiting to hear from the NHS the Ross care came up today to mend my manual chair the wheel had come of at the weekend when Ben my son raced over the back lane with me trying to get me home quickly because it was raining. I knew then that I couldn’t go back to being pushed and I don’t have the strength to self propel. I’ve decided to use the manual chair occcasionally indoors I’ve always managed to wall walk and crawl but if they need me to meet the criteria then I will give it a go. I’m text I g from a tablet so I hope it sounds okay. I’m so glad that your radiotherapy has ended you are a star Pat we are all so proud of you. Love Michelle x
Thanks Pam and Michelle.
On the very small chance that someone reading this likes tinkering and fixing things, or wants spare parts for a Roma Paris Shoprider, my old scooter is on eBay for the next 6 days, starting bid £50.
But it will need picking up in north London & it does keep stopping suddenly hence the low price!
Thought I may as well try and make a few quid out of it & a good friend put it on for me.
Love to all. London is like a sauna. I’m hoping to lose some weight by sweating!
