Bit of a weird one or maybe not to you guys! My latest relapse affected my right side/leg which improved after steroids. Today walking to the shop I had the usual heaviness but for some reason I kept veering off to the left
it’s like my tracking is off balance I really had to think about walking properly. I had a busy day yesterday so was expecting the hit today but that’s a new thing for me. Is this something that happens or is what my mother used to say to me true, that after years of ballet lesson I still have the grace and poise of a drunk ![]()

Hello! This happens to me regularly. During relapse or if I’m really fatigued, I veer off to the left as well. I use a cane to walk with outside, and it is to combat the veering off rather than for balance or weakness, so you are not alone. My neuro physio said that she sees this quite a bit in her MS clients as well.

Yes, walking in a straight line is no longer within scope for me either. The secret is to take care that the veer doesn’t become a topple!
Oh wow thanks everyone at least I know! I do have a habit of going over my ankle alot. Thankfully I’ve not had any big falls yet… well ones I can put down to ms, more my own stupidity ![]()

Heck yes - the moment I have overdone things the gremlin in my CNS gets hold of the steering controls and I veer off (to the right) - I have learned to not over-correct too rapidly, that way lies faceplanting 101.
Thank you all again for sharing this especially as I now know to be careful with it. Today seemed better but I haven’t walked as much so I probably need to learn to pace myself more ![]()
