Recommended medication for cramping

I have Secondary Progressive MS and have been taking Baclofen for many years for the spasms/cramps that I suffer. I have been getting daily headaches and think it may be due to the Baclofen. I have tried Tizanidine and felt like a zombie all day. Gabapentine was tried and was ineffective. I understand that Pregabolin is the modern alternative. Does anyone have experience of Pregabolin? Is it better that Gabapentine? Or can anyone recommend an alternative?

I find magnesium eases the problem with spasm/cramp and worth trying to see if it helps. A bit of gentle stretching wont hurt either.

Thank you for the advice, but I have been trying Magnesium for the last three months and find it does not help. I do have a Friday exercise class with my local MS Group and sometimes it helps and sometimes it seems to make matters worse. It is the vagaries of MS I suppose.

This is from the NHS website.

“If these medicines are not effective, you may be offered a 4-week trial of nabiximols (Sativex). This is a cannabis-based medicine sprayed into the mouth.”

I hope you find workable solution.

Thank you. The drugs listed all seem to have the same side effects. I have an appointment with my Neurologist in June so will carry on the Baclofen until then. I was diagnosed in 1995 and told there would be a cure within ten years. still waiting!
