Here is an easy recipe for whole meal bread that I feel helps with constipation. 425g Wholemeal flour 1 desert spoon wheat germ 1 teaspoon bran 275ml buttermilk (I just use the whole carton which I think is 300ml) I have found it in Sainsburys 1 teaspoon bread soda 1teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons oil 1 teaspoon brown sugar Mix ingredients together. I add buttermilk last. Do not over mix as it makes the bread heavy. This is the great think about this recipe as if you have problems with your hands it only takes a few turns with the wooden spoon and its together. You may need to add a few drops of water if its too dry. Lightly grease a tray and form the mixture into a circle . Using a knife cut a cross into the bread mixture. Bake at 180 degrees C for 15min then reduce to 150 degrees C for a further 40 min. I place my roasting tray in the bottom of the oven with a mug of water in it. This helps to keep the bread fro burning. Remove from oven look at the bottom of the bread if it looks to soft (should be firm to touch) it may need a few more minutes. This bread is lovely toasted for breakfast or with a bowl of homemade soup. Please let me know if you try it. It’s so easy and good for you and really does help with the poo problem lol!! You can also experiment and add a few seeds to the mixture. Hope this is of some help to someone. Anita x

That`s summat to try for your bread maker, eh?
My spirulina is working my bowels a treat. Not needed a movicol for a while now!
luv Pollx
Sorry Poll and Pat I don’t think it would work in a bread maker as it doesn’t need kneeding as it has no yeast. Mixing too much much would leave you with a solid lump (as far as I know) x
