Does anyone smell things that arent there, the last few weeks, i can smell cigarette smoke really strongly, as though someones sat next to me having a cig, its with me all the time, and although i am trying to ignore it , it annoys me, i read that people with brain conditions can smell burning, so i am gusessing its an ms thing, just curios to know if anyone else gets it too. jaki xx
I do, and when I first had it it went on for a few days, the smell of burning or smouldering. Even had the council down to check the plugs, of course they thought I was stark raving mad. It went eventually but still comes back from time to time. Hopefully yours will go but you are not alone in this.

Yep. Usually burning plastic but black pepper pops up now and then… oh and recently that damp mildew smell. Looked everywhere for where it was coming from, then asked other people if they could smell it… but no… seems to be just me. :roll: Pat x

I get the occasional blast of fresh flowers …thought the force was with me - this is another MS symptom!!! :? :o :shock:

I didnt know that it was MS related as now and then I smell burning and check the plugs, lights etc…grief something else to add to my list At least I’m not alone Sara x
Oh wow …and me!! Woke up 4am the other night and thought I could smell cigarettes - another awful symptom to add to the list! Glad we have this board to tell each other we’re all not going mad. Jen x
Over the last few weeks I keep smelling GAS :o :o :o … the only gas we have is for the cooker. I keep going back to the kitchen, checking that all the gas is turned off, but I still smell gas :!: :!: :!:
Had everything from smoke, burning electrics, jam, candyfloss, and smells Id rather not describe. I always know something is happening inside my brain when it comes on with avengence. Good job we know it exists cos the fire briggade would go mad if we called them out on suspicion of something smouldering. Also get ear popping as if Im thousands of miles up in a plane. I also get the burning smell but also, distressingly, the smell of urine and starnge body odour although I am assured it is not “real”.
I’ve been having constant issues with a burning smell. It’s very strong and i’m wondering if there was a change in my lesions. My last MRI was unchanged but it was about a year ago
This disease is crazy. Ever changing and frustrating.
