l have always found the celebs who endorse the selling of āover 50ās planā - and Life lnsurance - very dubious. They are taking in vunerable people. Carol Vorderman -June Whitfield- Michael Parkinson [and the free Parker pen] Gloria Hunniford etc. Have all made money out of this. Then two weeks ago - Gloria Hunniford and Watchdog - came clean - She was full of apologies - as she admitted what a scam it was. Unsuspecting people were paying in far more then they would ever get out. The longer you live - the more money you lose. l noticed Gloria - although full of remorse - did not offer to compensate anyone. You would have thought Carol Vorderman would have done the sums!!! The only people who benefitted - well their beneficiaries - were the ones who died fairly soon after taking out the policy. Those who fortunately lived much longer were just giving there money away. And those who tried to cancel the policy lost out as well.
Also, l hate the cold calls - recorded messages telling me l am entitled to a new boiler - loft insulation- soffits -etc.
