Ofatumumab bloods

Is it common for blood tests that are required each six months, to show low immunoglobulin levels? And, in the case of that being the result, do you have to stop the drug altogether? I’ve been on this treatment since September, so this will be a first check since starting. It’s working for me and I want to stay on it…
Thanks in advance of any replies :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi, I’m not an expert, but my understanding is this is routine blood work that’s required when you are on this drug. Immunoglobulins play a vital role in targeting viruses & bacteria, so my understanding is the results help clinicians determine how compromised (or not) your immune system is.
I think most of us get anxious when we have to have tests done when we are on DMT’s, but my view is it is a necessary evil. I’m so lucky to be on a DMT & if the blood work helps clinicians objectively evaluate the effect of the drug on my system, that’s a good thing.

Hi

I had my pre infusion bloods done a week ago and my levels were low , had a meeting with my ms nurse this week and she said this is normal and the next infusion is going ahead.

Hope this puts your mind at rest.

Best wishes
