Numb legs?

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you are all as well as can be expected and it’s not too hot.

I have been off work for six weeks and am returning to my very busy job on Monday. I started off with severe fatigue which then turned into a numb left leg and sometimes feeling of tight elastic bands wrapped round.

My fatigue has gone thankfully but just the numb foot/leg and wondered if there is anything I could do to help or will time be a healer?

Thank you very much.

I’ve never heard of anything that can help numbness, but perhaps your MS nurse would have some ideas?

Hopefully time will do the trick though.

by numbness do you mean tingling like pins and needles?

because that is a common ms symptom

sometimes it eases off a bit and other times it seems to get worse in my case.

good luck on your return to work

Hi Martina

Sorry to hear you are having a rough time of it. Did you have any steroid treatment?
I’ve had this in the past and it eventually went away after steroids, but everyone is different.

Hope it doesnt last too long .Best wishes Heather

I found amitriptyline helped numbness/tingling and slowly it went away by itself, over about a year. First relapse I had it faded over about six weeks.

Hello and good afternoon,

Thank you for your replies and advice. I have been sleeping this weekend and I think this has helped.

I do have pins and needles and a numb lower leg and sometimes it is worse than others but I can’t work out why at all but then again MS is a strange thing and annoying one. I have had it for 13 years well that is when I was diagnosed but definitely had it earlier looking back.

I am back at work today and working from home so in my lunch break I went to sleep but it is going to be tough going in the office tomorrow at 8am but I am hoping to be able to work 3 days a week from home but my boss doesn’t like people working from home so it is going to be a tough day but I can’t do more than 2 days in the office as it is too tiring and stressful as my immediate boss was useless but thankfully was sacked while off sick and whilst this is good it means more work for me and I think it was stress in the first place that started off this relapse.

I hope you all have a good day.

Martina xxx
