Hi, was just looking for some advice really. 5 years ago I experienced optic neuritis in my right eye which lasted 2 weeks. I was referred to neurology and have had a few MRI’s over the years to check progress. There was discussion about MS and to watch and wait really. My last MRI was about a year ago and I was told no change, if anything it looked improved. I haven’t heard from the consultant since. In November I started experiencing pins and needles/numbness in my right hand. I’ve been pretty much ignoring it but jn the last month I’ve been getting intermittent really intense pins and needles in my hand which hurts so much it makes me cry and lasts about half an hour. Been worrying that this is another indication of MS and although I’ve been burying my head in the sand, I do need to address it. Trouble is I don’t know how to. Should I contact my GP and ask them to refer me back to neurology or should I try and get in contact with my consultant although I’m not sure how to as I have looked at old papers and can’t see a number and I’m not sure if I’m even under their care? Sorry for the length, feeling quite anxious and overwhelmed at the moment Thank you
I’d suggest you talk to your GP first. It is always good to have them on your side, and know what is going on. They should know how best to proceed.
