Hi,
Sorry about your diagnosis.
Walking and balance are a common symptoms.
Have you got a stick? Lots available in different colours. The handle should be up to your wrist.
I can’t wear slip on shoes or heels anymore. Just have to find out which shoes stay on and are comfortable.
Look after yourself.

Even with MS, balance can improve with practice - I know!
Try standing on one leg (or if that’s not possible just put the toes of your other foot on the floor. Try walking toe to heel, try a wobble cushion. None of this will probably be easy (or even possible) to begin with but slowly, slowly, with perseverance things will improve. Keep positive!
If you’re wobbly, get a cane. It was embarrassing at first, but I swear by mine now and have several in different colors and styles.
For shoes, I’ve found that I prefer ones with smooth, thin soles. If I try wearing rubber-soled shoes, I trip a lot more, but there’s also a greater risk of falling on smooth floors. It’s a lose/lose situation!
I gave up heels years ago and actually prefer tie-on suede moccasins. Not sure they’d actually be available in the UK, though.
I have used this for balance its very good and helped me a lot.
