NEWBIE Just Seeking advice please

Hi there, I am new to all this and as yet undiagnosed although I can say I have experienced symptoms for the last few years. I am 54 and have been noticing blurry vision, double vision, eye pain and involuntary movements like a tremor of the eye (mainly left) as well as in reasing incidences of nystagmus. I also get numbness and tingling in my hands fingers and arms as well as fatigue and brain fog. I am due to see GP in 2 weeks with hopefully a referral onto neurology. Is there any advice you can give me on what is best to way to approach GP so as not to get Fobbed off.

Many thanks

Hi @Pinkflamingo71 . The best thing to do is keep a record of all your symptoms. But I’m not quite sure what you mean by fobbed off. MS symptoms are varied and non specific. Apologies if this sound blunt but you seem to have self diagnosed a condition that is difficult to pin down . it could well b that your symptoms are a result of something totally different ( and I hope that for your sake they are- MS is a one way street downhill and not nice to have !)

Hi Pink’

Good advice above from Hank :+1:

….. do keep a diary of what happens and when it happens.

I suppose if you feel that the GP is unsympathetic to your concerns, you could approach Opthalmology with your eye issues (there’s more than 1 route to a neurology review)

Try to rest well and consider everything that you want to get across to the GP before your appointment (brain fog can be a bugger for skipping bits in the moment )

Good luck x

Jon.

Keep a cool, clear head, take with you a brief written summary of what’s been going on and when. I think that’s about all you can do. I hope that your consultation goes well.
