Naratriptan &Qulipta for migraines

Hello

i use to get migraines maybe once a month or so, then recently I think because of my anxiety they started to appear more often, so I asked my GP to prescribe me Naratriptan ( after mu thorough research) - initially she prescribed Sumatriptan which I refused to take after reading people experience wirh it.

She qlwo said not to take Naratriptan foe more rhan 3 days a month due to serotonin syndrome, and suggested if i get more frequent migraines to try a prophylactic treatment ( I said I want Qulipta as it has very safe profile).

Now…ai havent taken either yet, still scared of side effects etc. I am living in pain! When I get the headache it triggers my anxiety- makes me lightheaded …nauseous…severe head pain even when laying in bed! I live alone and I cant even stand up to make myself dinner etc. It can last for ip to 10days! I cant do anything!

I would really appreciate it if someone has any experience with either of the meds so I can finally start taking something and can have a near normal zlife again!

Thank you all

It seems that migraine is a fairly common problem in MS and might be worth discussing with your Neuro.

I hope you find a workable solution.

Sorry you’re going through this. Even though your appointment is next year your ms nurses can forward onto your neurologist regarding the migraines and he can suggest a medication. I know sometimes they prescribe a beta blocker for migraines, but you would need to have the discussion with your ms nurses regarding the detrimental effect they’re having on your life!

I hope you get some help and support to manage these.
