My MS journey blog....2000 - 2016

I wrote this to heal as i lost my husband, but there is a lot of stuff in the blog about my journey with MS and eventually getting diagnosed which might help some of you.

the first thing is we know our own bodies. I knew mine, and going blind in 2000 to me was well kind of not normal. Dismissed by GP.

It was ongoing for many years. Finally after second VEP test positive I was told candidly you have progressive MS, sorry there is nothing for you just maintenance meds.

I lost my mum a few weeks prior to that announcement and my husband a year later.

Anyway lots of stuff, may help you and some stories as well.

The thing is never give up hope. Remember it may not be MS so be open minded as to what it could be. Do not google symptoms. Every person who has MS has it differently. It is a snow flake disease.

Yes other diseases mimic and have very similar symptoms as MS. When you start this journey you just want to find out what is wrong don’t you? Never obsess about MS as quite honestly it is usually not down to that. Oh and other times it is and doctors miss it completely as like I said even they don’t get that MS is not a standard disease and can hit someone at any age not just young people.

over 16 to 20 years with it i still have a sense of humour, I still enjoy new things and challenges. My MS is on my journey not its journey and i take it where i go.

Oh i am now into night vision photography with a wildlife camera catching hedgehogs and foxes. Its a lot of fun, and it can take me several hours to sort out my films, which is a great hobby. You can catch some of my videos on you tube, Hedgehog and wildlife junction. You will be amazed what wildlife you have in your garden at night.

Thanks for posting. Perhaps I shouldn’t be focussing on if my symptoms are MS, and instead, I just be patient until I get a diagnosis, no matter what it is.

It will be, what it will be. Worrying won’t change the outcome.

I actually did have a family of hedgehogs in my urban back garden last year, unfortunately no sign of any this year.

I was lucky enough to capture footage last year! Hedgehog Feeding Station. - YouTube

look what i got last night.

FOUR HOGS.

Good post CC. Us long time MSers can offer our own experiences. Hopefully they will help newbies . I remember how frightened and worried I was back when I was 45…68 now!.

Luckily most MSers go on to have decent lives with absorbing hobbies, like you with your wild life.
