MS Poem

Hello to my fellow MSers, I hope you’re all doing well.

YI haven’t been on here for sometime and after being diagnosed in 1994 with relapsing MS I am now secondary progressive which I’m trying to navigate.

I was asked to write a letter or poem to my MS during therapy and would like to share this with you all:

F*** you MS !

I look forward with glee to the plans that I make

And all you can do is take take take

I want to, I’ll do it, I just need to push !

But no, not allowed, my spirit you crush

My energy you drain time and time again

Leaving me with only exhaustion and pain

I feel so jaded and that my head’s an empty space

When I look in the mirror I can see it in my face

My hopes and dreams have all turned to dust

Stamp on them, deny me them if you must

My memory, my thinking, trying to work things out

Are all marred by you, leaving me in doubt

Will my head ever clear and be as I was

You’ll not let that happen cos you are the boss

I hate you, I loathe you, you’ll not let me be

Can you not just leave me and let me be free

To be independent, spontaneous and do as I please

Yet again, not allowed, you’ll not give me ease

For all that you’ve done and all that you’ll do

I’ll never give in, so MS F*** you
