Ms kids and school holidays

Morning all so last day of school and 2 weeks off how do other people cope with young kids off school I used to be able walk them to town and back take them to quarry etc now I can barely walk to shops I will be getting a scooter in the near future so in time that will give me back my independence but until then how do u explain to a four year old u just can not do something every day my 9 year old understands a little better but still finds it hard at times just wonder how other parents get through the holidays xx

Morning. I bought my scooter for exactly this reason, to get the kids out, to school etc and be as normal as possible. Kids got used to it very easily and so did their friends etc. Some direct questions from others, I gave them direct answers. Kids ask directly and then that’s it.

dont know what your nearby environment is, but we are very fortunate here, lots of parks and scooter friendly walks. It’s just a little’n but it works for its keep. Best if you can get out with friends, pack of kids tends to amuse themselves, and adult company always a bonus. Packed lunch and let them run.

My scooter can also go to museums, galleries etc and they usually have kids activities on over holidays. If you’ve not got scooter yet, but can manage walking from car/bus to park, then they can go and play. Scooter also carries jumpers, coats, picnic, tired smaller children etc. Good luck xxx

Hi Shirley and Slug

I have a six year old little beauty!

I find she loves to do things like cooking together, watching a film together or even just playing with her toys together

Also soft plays are great as she can just go wild and I have a coffee and a chat …

We love fishing days, picnics and the butterfly farm. Whatever we do I am lucky with my support network and someone always comes with me and we take it at my pace. My daughter is very good and understanding.

A roll of wall paper laid back facing up all over the floor then let loose with the crayons etc

If Mr Sunshine does decide to grace us with his presence the hose pipe plugged into a sprinkler head in the garden is brilliant for her to play in to (and waters my garden to)

Wishing you all a lovely Easter Time… maybe you could set up an Easter egg hunt around your house ?? … Enjoy lots of chocolate xx

l have used a scooter for many years - about 30. Small one that went in the car - and larger ones to get out over the fields with the dogs. Had a Tramper for the last 12yrs.

But most of the time l use my rollator - a Topro Olympus. Use it around the house and garden. And it goes in the car for trips out. lt has a good seat and backrest so l always have the safety of sitting down when needed. lt gets me to the loo in record time as well!! lt balances a round laundry basket a treat - so l can get the washing out on the line. The basket part holds all necessary items - phone/tissues/books/remote control/chocolate.
