Hi I had an mri today on head and neck and it lasted 2 hours in total, about an hour and a half without contrast and the last half hour with contrast . Iv had 2 mri scans before but they never took as long as this one, has anybody else had one that takes this long? Thanks
My first MRI was quite long but it was full spine and head it took 90 minutes. It may be that they needed to re scan some areas because you may have moved during it and the image wasn’t that clear.
I can only guess that, as rufus said, that they did extra scans or that the neuro had asked for very high resolution scans which take longer. Let’s hope it was worth it! Karen x
