What you do next depends on whether you were discharged from the (rude) neurologist. If you were not, have you been offered a follow up appointment. If so, then you can discuss the MRI with them at that appointment. If you were discharged, then you could get your GP involved, and ask for another referral based on the results of the latest MRI. I would possibly get the GP involved either way and give them a copy of the MRI report. How and where did you get the MRI report out of interest? These reports normally only get given to the patient once the results have been discussed with you by the requesting doctor.
Hi C, the secretary told me on the phone as i complained about the way things were being done i donāt think they are professional, I do not believe a diagnosis can be written up before results were seen.
The results could be a different ball game all together.
Normally results from an MRI can take any amount of time. And what happens next is very much a local matter. In some cases, the neurologist will now recall your wife to an appointment to discuss the findings of the MRI.
Unless s/he has actually discharged your wife because s/he felt the problems were either due to a functional neurological disorder or psychological.
If that is the case then you may need to be re-referred to the neurologist.
What I would do in your position is to phone the neurologists secretary to ask what is likely to happen next. Unless of course you prefer to see a different neurologist (and assuming there is another within the hospital).
Hello Iām new here Iām under investigation for MS I had MRI done last year they found some lesions in my brain but the neurologist said the lesions looks old and it doesnāt look like MS but I have many symptoms that proves I could have MS I had repeated MRi with contrast for head and spine 3 weeks ago and still havenāt got results how long would ir actually take?
I suppose it depends on if the scan results are getting seen by another consultant as well? You could always phone the hospital / your GP and ask? I had a thoracic spine MRI in the 26th of January, still no results back yet, nor for blood tests taken on the 14th of December.
