MRI reports

Hi

Wonder if someone could help me make sense of MRI reports. First one, couple of years ago showed 3 hyperintensities, 2 in right hemisphere at calloso-septal interface and the 3rd, a large abnormality seen peripherally in the left hemisphere just within frontal lobe. Had a further MRI a week or so ago which reports discrete focus of high signal in the right periventricular white matter, a further lesion in the left post-central gyrus and subtle signal change in the left middle cerebella peduncle anterolaterally.

I can see an indepth explanation of MRI findings but as much as I try, read and re-read my mind isn’t able to disseminate this information!! My symptoms are mainly of neuropathic pain, pins and needles etc. Also, more recently, a sluggishnish of thought and some word finding difficulties.

Not due to see neurologist yet but wondered if anyone can throw some light on the above and whether you would consider these findings to be indicative of MS.

Many thanks in advance.

Hello Anon

Have a look at Rizzo’ sticky post…a brief beginners guide to the brain. You may find it helpful.

My advice would be, wait until you see the neuro.

I do appreciate, it is worrying.

Good luck
