Mri diazepam???

Hi everyone,

I have delayed my mri as i suffer with chrostaphobia. I have rrms.
I have a mri coming up soon, and have been given 2 5mg of diazepam to take before mri. Has anyone used diazepam to go in mri and how did it make you feel?

I take clonazepam at night for tremors, i have been told not to take them on day of scan, just take diazepam.

Any help would be appreciated, thankyou.

I haven’t for an MRI but I did for my lumbar puncture. Gp gave me 5mg to take hour before. Helped to relax me and stop my spasms.
MRIs I’ve had many and always close my eyes until it’s over and don’t open them until I’m fully out of the scanner.
It can be cold so if they offer a blanket I would take it. Expect strange noises you will have ear plugs or may if you’re lucky have music through earphones. I hope it all goes well.

I’ve “left-field” experience with “Dazzis”…
You’ll be fine…:smiley::+1:
No, srsly, they’re a warm and fuzzy thing…

I don’t medicate b4 and lay off my “Herbal” relief for 24hrs prior as I don’t want my mind wandering off by itself thinking I’m relaxed bc I’m lying down…

I’ve spent up to 45mins-1hr (with trace) in the scanner having my brain and spinal column done…
I found that staring at my feet to useful during the scan…
also found trying to have a conversation with the operators helps, if only bc sometimes they get annoyed that the “subject” isn’t behaving correctly…:clown_face::+1:

You do’ve my best wishes…:+1:
In the past, whilst caving, I’ve squeezed myself through miles of soggy, underground tunnels and I’d prefer to do that than lay in a big plastic tube in a nice clean, warm…
Err… Container truck out the back of Dirty Dick’s in Chichester…!
