We are moving and I just wondered how you go about changing your neurologist and ms nurse to a different area , had 2 nasty falls in the last 2 months both needing an ambulance assistance so it has prompted a move too a bungalow if we move down there we can afford to pay off the mortgage .
My husband s sister lives down there and she is our nearest family now my sister lives in France and a auntie in Newcastle , a big thing too do but looking forward too it though the stress is not good for me .
I think you can maybe have a referral from your current neurologist to a new one. Your current neurologist would know who is an MS specialist in the new area so should get you in with the right person. And the neurology department where you move to will be able to put you in touch with an MS nurse.
Otherwise, you’d have to be referred by a new GP to the neurology services in the new area I should think.
Hi there. I live in Cornwall, In Bodmin. If you are moving to Helston area, you will most likely be refered to Treliske. The policy down here is that you only get to see the MS nurse if you are on DMD’s. Haven’t seen my consultant in years. Might be different for you though. Feel free to ask any questions, live Bex xxx
