Moved from D L A to PIP

Well, last year I got re assessed for ESA and luckily was retained in the support group. Now, I have just been moved from DLA to PIP and again I`ve done good. I know the government has to be careful in who they give benefits to, it is just that I have found the last year so worrying, waiting and wondering. Stanley

hi stanley

i’m really pleased that you have had a good outcome.

i’m having to go to a tribunal because the DWP appear to think i’ve been cured!

praise the lord!!

the stress of it all so far has made my ms a lot worse.

the tribunal will probably finish me off.

I have just had to ask for the ‘mandatory reconsidered’ because the assessor on mine blatantly lied on several points! My Man reckons she must have confused my notes with someone else that she visited, there were that many errors, grrr.

Just have to wait and see what happens now!

I am awaiting (with baited breath, yay) whether or not I am having a face to face (highly likely), every time the post comes, like loads of us here, I dread it, happy for you though Stanley, good result, good luck Soo & Carole!!! Probably be in your position soon as well, I know, I’m being defeatist, this is what it does to us xx

yes indeed, its the flippin stress

Gawd ya not kiddin’! The whole thing had me in a nervous wreck, I’ll be glad when its finally all over. Xxx

I got a good outcome too, but it was only granted for three years where I had DLA indefinitely, so I’ve got to do it all again next year.

mmmm, three years aint too bad, some were put on 6 monthly S

SIX MONTHS!!!

I can’t begin to imagine how anyone could live permanently with that stress in their lives. And it would be permanent.

I think three years is a bit frequent. What do they expect? Suddenly your MS will be (like Carole’s) cured?

I’m happy for you Stanley and keeping fingers firmly crossed for Tracey, Soo and Carole. (And indeed for all my fellow MSers who are living with the constant worry at the moment!)

I’ve been fortunate enough to have survived the ‘Ordeal by PIP’! Happily (!) I’m not cured neither am I expected to recover quickly so I’ve got the award for the full 10 years.

I had to go through mandatory reconsideration to get the level of PIP I need, but I did get it for 6 years. It seems that Capita and ATOS think that they’ll save money by not getting medical evidence. The mandatory reconsiderations and tribunals must cost them more than they save.

As proof of how applying for PIP has affected me, a brown envelope from the DWP arrived in March. My first thought was, “Oh no! What do they want now?” It was just a letter informing me of the annual increase to my PIP award. I would never have reacted that way when I was on DLA.

it really affected me, first the ESA and then from DLA to PIP - 6 years I think is good but it is always something on the horizon … Stanley
