Anyone tried the supplement Mitoq?
Er…I get where you’re coming from - it’s the stuff that’s recently shown some promise in mice, right? But (a) mice don’t get multiple sclerosis; they get an artificially induced disease that mimics it, for the purposes of study, so it’s not the case that success in that limited context necessarily translates to success in human beings with MS. (b) It has never been successfully demonstrated to treat MS in humans. I believe limited trials have been done with Parkinson’s, which did NOT show a benefit, but did provide some patient safety data.
It’s horrendously expensive. £37.25 for 30 days’ supply, from what it says on their website. And I bet that doesn’t include shipping and/or import VAT, as I’m guessing it will ship from the US or NZ. I don’t think it’s cheap, for something that has not been proved to have any beneficial effect on humans with MS. Many (most!) promising studies on mice never make the transition to being approved as safe and effective MS treatments for people.
My advice is to save your money - at least until it gets cheaper, or there’s more evidence, or both.
