Menopause plus MS

I am wondering as I am peri menopausal and 51 in May. Do I need to be concerned I am heading to menopause as I have been very confused and possibly bad brain fog. Do I need to worrry? I take Pregabalin and wonder if the increase last week has anything to do with it

Something to read before someone far better qualified comes along.

Hi, Im 47 now and ive been perimenopausal for a couple of years - hot flushes, disturbed nights and irratic periods, dropping things, memory problems etc…the list goes on!!

Ive also only been diagnosed with SPMS for nearly 2 years so i have no idea which symptom is for which condition (- some are definatley ms ie foot drop)
but im ok.

like ms the menopause is different for all females, just see how you go and if needs be talk to your doctor or ms nurse

Take care

MS and menopause aren’t a great mix, alas. I’ll be staying on HRT for as long as I’m allowed.

Thank you for your reply. I think I have to try and see what the doctor says. I just seem to of gone all wonky at the same time. I am RRMS and month 4 of Aubagio after giving up Rebif due to an bad abscess.

MS has been under control it was just a change in meds. Thanks for the reply

Don’t worry, all women go through this. My mom got menopause at 50 and it led to her depression, weight gain, migraines and severe headaches. I found(removed by moderator)after using which her estrogen in the body increased and then she felt much better. I am very happy for her and I think you can try it too. Good luck, I think you will be fine
