Been offered the opportunity to start one of these . Had been on Interferon for 15 years until in March I had to stop this , as it was affecting my liver .
I have had no relapses and was diagnosed in 2011 . I’ve been very lucky as I am now 57 and apart from fatigue and my left leg sometimes causes me to fall I’ve been fortunate and on the most part I’m well .
I am leaning towards Mavenclad providing this is approved , my consultant will discuss at the next MDT .
I am a bit worried about serious side effects although they are rare , my MS nurse describes the drug as a short sharp shock but says he has seen good results from it .
Anyone have any advice ? I know we are all different but blimey , it seems like a massive decision to me and at the appt yesterday the consultant was very good and gave me loads of info . I was alone which wasn’t ideal but sometimes you need opinions if people actually taking the meds to see what the pros /cons are Thanks for listening and reading ! I’ve already had all my bloods taken to start the ball rolling .
