Lumbar puncture results

Hello I received a ms diagnosis in October last year and had a lumbar puncture in December. The results say that it revealed 8 white cells normal protein and glucose. Obligoclonal bands detected not present in serum. He’s confirmed diagnosis but was just curious whether all this gave more information about the ms? Is this terrible results or normal for ms!? Can’t anyone shed any light for example is 8 white cells not too bad or really bad?

Hi, I always wonder why an LP is needed after a diagnosis has been given following an MRI. Having said that I am awaiting results of an LP…yet the MRI told my neuro what he needed to know. I guess they are just dotting the Is and crossing the ts. Perhaps your MS nurse can explain things to you.
