Hi ive just got my lumbarpuncture results cfs normal opening and no oligclonal bands. Does this mean i dont have ms? Mri showed 1 single dymylating plaque in spine and none in brain.on opening pressure was 17,glucose7.2 and random glucose 13.9, 2 white cells and 1704 red
It might mean that you don’t have MS, but you really need to have that conversation with your neurologist. About 80-95% of people with MS have Oligoclonal bands in their CSF. But that still leaves a good number of people with a negative LP who are still diagnosed with MS.
So, assuming you have an appointment set up, you should ask the neurologist then. And if you don’t have one booked in, you’ll need to arrange an appointment.
