Hi Sounds like your having a tough time at the mo, what you describe does sound similar to what I experienced back in oct 2012. I suffered a ‘big’ relapse as I call it where I seemed to go from being relatively fine to legs collapsing and then not being able to walk without an aid all within a fortnight! I’m still trying to recover from that relapse now, it took me 4mths until I could get back to work, even then I probably went back too early. Now 14mths on since returning to work I am much better, it’s been a long very long road to get to where I am, but even now I can’t walk for more than 10min before legs fatigue and I have to sit down, and sit down for a good hr + before attempting something else. I know this probably sounds rather negative, but if I look back 12mths I can see I have come on massively - positive thinking. Physio can help and I would recommend it, but ultimately rest, your body is telling you it needs rest - easier said then done I know, I can’t stand just sitting down when my 5yr old wants me to play or that I can see things need doing round the house! But also contact your nurse or neuro, it could be a relapse and I’m learning it’s best to get help sooner rather than later! All the best, hope your feeling better soon. Liana
Yes i had a baby 7 weeks ago and had a bad relapse 8 days after she was born ended up in hospital for 4days guess im still relapsing never imagined anything like it no more kids for me! First proper relapse after dx x
Yes, I lost my legs to gabapentin. I started on a low dose and followed the instructions until I was on three tablets three times a day. They solved the pain issue but turned my legs to jelly. At that point I read the contraindications on the leaflet which said some people experience difficulty walking, so I stopped taking them and got my legs back. Not that my legs worked that well to begin with, but definitely better without the gabapentin .
