Limbs behaving badly

Hi all. Still awaiting neuro appointment so not officially diagnosed yet. However all pointing to late onset ms and GP sure that’s what it is. I seem to be in a relapse right now, and the muscle cramps are horrendous. Usually back and shoulders but not lasting long. This morning my right foot turned completely inward for a full 4 minutes. It was excruciating. Never had it last like this and now I’m thinking I should give up driving. I can’t imagine this happening while I’m driving and not being able to move my accelerator or brake !!! Anyone else had this?

The muscle cramps are horrendous, I was up most of last night with them. A few things to think about:

Has the cramping happened when the weather/room/car/bath or shower was hot? If I get too warm/hot my symptoms play up something rotten.

Make sure you are well hydrated, I know that when I am not the cramps hit way harder.

Are you emptying your bladder fully/do you have a low grade urinary tract infection? Weirdly either of these can trigger muscle cramping elsewhere in the body.

Do you have any sort of infection; again, these can trigger muscle cramping.

Raise the issue with your GP, they may be able to help - also, if you are not already doing so, keep a symptom diary and take it with you to the Neuro appointment, concentrate on a shortlist of the top 5 most aggravating / problematic symptoms - even prior to diagnosis the Neurologist could prescribe medication to help alleviate symptoms.

Hi there, I’ve never had bad muscle cramps, spasms so can’t give any definite advice in that. However, have you tried magnesium supplements? Lots of folk on this forum do use magnesium in different ways- tablets, drinks ( e.g Oshhee) or sprays/ oils ( I don’t know much about these but others might advise). I take magnesium tablets from time to time and they do seem to help

Thank you x Humidity/heat certainly makes it worse. I was just sitting with my feet up when the foot turn came on. I’m keeping a diary and yes, I try to keep hydrated. Thanks for the advice x
