Life insurance

Hi Looking to get some life insurance. Any recommendations? Many thanks

Hi, I currently have an application on the go with Vitality, they want to see the results of my latest MRI before they proceed further. Before this I applied to Legal & General but this didn’t progress, I believe more to do with the fact I have had several UTI’s over the past few years rather than an ms issue. Good luck!

I was quoted ÂŁ19 pm with legal and general. Sod that I thought

ÂŁ19 for what sort of cover ?

Theres a lot that can alter the premium when looking to take out a life insurance policy.

Age, Sex, Underlaying health conditions, Job, Health conditions of other close family members, Amount of cover, Length of cover, Smoker, ect ect.

I was getting some very decent quotes, however, these were just initial quotes over the phone, but when you fill in the proposal form and send them back you’ll quickly find out that once the underwriter has gone through your answers you’ll either end up paying a higher premium o getting refused cover altogether.

We pay £33 for a joint cover with Aviva, that’s with my MS declared.

Believe it or not it was my high blood pressure that increased the premium not the MS.

I would NEVER EVER go to one of those “Specialist” companies that deal with illnesses.

They are a rip off.

We were put in touch with a “specialist” broker through this site, their quotes were diabolical !!

Ring around different companies yourself, it’s far cheaper, but don’t rely on the “quote” to be set in stone, be prepared for an increase once they go through your proposal form.

And remember that its pointless not declaring everything as they will turn over every litle stone in the event of a claim, be truthful and know that your covered.

If you’ve been offered a decent amount of cover for a decent number of years with ALL your conditions truthfully declared for £19 a month, I think thats a fair quote.

Also Legal & General are a large well known company, again this is something you need to take into consideration when accepting quotes, who will be covering you ?

“I believe more to do with the fact I have had several UTI’s over the past few years rather than an ms issue”

Yep, you’ll be amazed at what will stop an insurance company offering a policy, my MS wasn’t really a sticking point, it was slightly high blood pressure that was the grey area, but in the end I was accepted but with a premium increase.

Do not waste your money on Life Insurance it is just a con who will not die for several years, money down the drain.

But surely its good to have financial protection in place for loved ones ?

I certainly feel happier knowing that not only will my loved ones have some financial protection should something happen to me, but also vice versa.

Your decision but ÂŁ19 per month is ÂŁ228 per year and ÂŁ2280 over 10 years.

You can have a good time for ÂŁ2.5k with your loved ones before you pass away and enjoy their company, having meals and fun.

Have fun now.

Hey Bertie

Are you still flying off to Delhi on the 20th?

Not this month due to virus being vibrant there.

Although Boris is going in January

Will go as soon as we are vaccinated

Cannot wait to have a chance of a normal life

Impressed that you remembered me whoever you are

Thanks Bertie

Wish you well. Hope you will report back on this sight for us ms folks left behind!

I may be tempted myself?

It will certainly be a brighter New Year for you!

Hey,

I pay ÂŁ17 a month with legal and general, which I think is quite resealable to be honest.

Thanks Dizzy

I am waiting for my Christmas dinner to be delivered by the very kind people in our local community.

Will keep you informed of success or failure

Keep positive

Happy Bertie

Or you can pay £19 month, which equates to 63p per day, still enjoy your families company and also rest easy knowing that your loved ones are well cared for when you pop your clogs…

ÂŁ19 per month or ÂŁ2.5k over 10 years, !'m really not so sure how much of a good time or eating meals out that amount of money would fetch these days ?

63p per day wont even buy a decent cup of coffee.

I guess you could buy 1 tasteless coffee from a vending machine and some straws

Each to their own eh !

Its a very decent premium to pay.

Pennies when you look at the whole picture

Not sure why he thinks it’s a con, thank god we had life assurance when my husband died suddenly. £2280 wouldn’t have gone far paying the mortgage off.

My thoughts exactly.

But we all organise and approach our lives differently.

A friend of the family passed away very very suddenly 2 months ago with a massive heart attack, she was 46, fit and healthy as far as anyone could tell, a non smoker/drinker, and married with 2 little girls.

A massive shock to all that knew her !

I dont know if she had life insurance or not, but I would imagine that if she did it would of helped ease things financially at such a tragic time.

None of us know what might be around the corner.

I guess some will argue “live for today”, & " don’t bother with life insurance" but to me I just find that a bit selfish.

That though is just my personal opinion.

I’ve seen a fair amount of people passing away over the last few years, within the family and amongst friends, the majority of it was very sudden without warning, and the loss brought utter devastation to all those concerned personally and financially…

I hate to think my family would suffer like I’ve seen others have !

But as I previously said, we are all different.
