Hi all, what a crap day!
License has been revoked by the DVLA because my condition is progressive. Was asked by my top neurologist just before christmas why I wasn’t driving - I thought everything was going well, until today. This totally destroys my lifestyle as I drive for a living.
What do next? I don’t know. Do I just give up?
Thanks for your expert opinions
Mel
You should be able to appeal: when DVLA granted me a 3 year licence, the letter also told me how to appeal if I wasn’t happy with that. Do you feel that you are still safe to drive? Does your neuro think you are still safe?
Three year licences seem to be common for drivers with MS. For DVLA to revoke your licence, either they are bading that on the information you gave them, or whichever of your doctors they consulted has not convinced them you are safe to carry on.
Since you drive forc a living, you need to get this sorted so it definitely sounds like an appeal is in order, but longer term you may need to consider trying to find a non-driving job. I know that is far easier said than done.
Good luck.
Mel, I agree with Mitzi… you should appeal. I remember someone else on here appealing once… can’t remember who… but they got their license back. Good luck with it… really hope you get it back soon. Pat xx
