Leg Movement Problems

Hi. Just wondering if anyone can help - got a weird symptom and am wondering if anyone else experiences it. My right leg - when I am sitting down with my legs up, or lying flat I am unable to lift my leg and place it over the other. No matter how hard I try I can maybe lift it an inch then that’s it. Bending my knee, walking etc, all fine, it’s this one movement. Even trying to put my socks on I struggle to lift it, and it’s more of an irritation than anything. It isn’t painful, but when I try my hardest to move it further it is sore. I always wonder what are MS symptoms or just getting older (I’m 43). Thanks in advance. Lorna xx

Hi @lmstewarthook Yes. I have the same with my left leg, just before I was diagnosed and still stuck on the Orthopaedic route, they discovered that my left leg could not do a “straight leg rise” either by myself or with them trying to do it. I also have no problem when bending from the knees. It is to do with hip flexor apparently! 2 and a half years later and with lots of physio I am still not able to lift straight from sitting or lying position.

Sounds familiar. I have very specific movements that don’t work any more and it does feel that a particular muscle or tendon or whatever has lost comms with the centre. In my case it’s an MS thing for sure.
