I’m working my way through those too, JBK. I’m on Pyramids at the moment - love the name of the country - Djelibeybi! Fantastic reading. He had an amazing imagination.
Another good author not mentioned yet is Deric Longden. He writes about his wife, family, cats, and day-to-day life. Very, very moving in places, and others really make you laugh out loud. I found it a very easy read and managed to devour all his books in a few weeks.

I think I tried to read ‘Tis’ but found the incessant use of the word ‘tis’ really annoying - (Hope I’m referring to the right book)
A discovery of witches by Deborah Harkness, the most gripping book I have ever read. It’s a vampire witch fantasy for adults, download a sample before you buy you will now after the first 10 pages if it is for you. It is the first book of a trilogy.

I’ve just finished the All souls trilogy Ann, they give you the first one free then you simply have to buy two and three I did enjoy them, it was quite refreshing to read this kind of book without the bad language and rampant sex.

I get emails every couple of days from bookbub with free and cheap offers, the first of the trilogy was a free. They go straight into my iBooks, I don’t usually buy any but this one was particularly enjoyable. I’ve been staying with my mum for three weeks due to work being done at home so I read all three back to back

Hi, I chose Iran Awakening by …oh cant recall now and it`s in the bedroom.
I`m learning a lot about Iran and how the author grew up…she became a judge and was demoted when the Shah was ousted and the Ayatollah Khomeni came to power.
Its teaching me a lot.

Just started A House in the Sunflowers. Read a sample in Kindle and was transported to France and started renovating a house! 
loving it so far.
These days, due to cognition problems, I get difficulty reading books which kind of jump scenarios and which make me have to go back a few pages to remind me of who is who, and what is what- that kind of thing.
However my last read was A Quiet Silence by Rosamund Lupton and I found it difficult to put down, to the extent that I finished it in 2 and a half days (and nights). A really gripping read, and one of those books that gave me what is known as a ‘book hangover’ because it’s taken me a week to get into the next on my book pile.
I have been reading (and loving) The Cazalet Chronicles by Elizabeth Jane Howard. Set before and during the Second World War. So good.
Crochunter, you have a lot to answer for, I got no sleep last night after getting you book recommendation Behind closed doors, I stayed up the whole night reading it. Fantastic read.

So sorry but its one of those reads that once you start you have to keep going to find out what happens,it kept me on edge all the way even now a week or so after i find myself thinking about how grace could have got away, but jack is a total control freak.
I will look out for the next book due out by this author in september .

I have another recommendation for any horror readers. Keep an eye out for an author called Scott Nicholson. I’m reading a box set of his of four short stories - well actually one short novel and 3 short stories but I have read other books of his. He is a very good author and comes up with a good storyline. I believe the ‘short novel’ in the ones I am reading is currently being made into a film.
I would also recommend Michael Stark - The Island, if you like a bit of supernatural. He is a self published author but now has an agent and seems to be moving up to better things. Again, good writing and a good plot. He has his own website and will respond to any readers comments.
Ok thats all for now. I do have to work sometimes you know but it does get in the way dreadfully of my reading habit

It is already a film, not sure it has been released yet, but 22.11.63 by Stephen King (great book) has been made into a TV mini series, starting 8th or 10th April, shan’t miss it either way!

I love Terry Pratchett books, I reread them all regularly, the last one being Johnny and the Bomb just a few days ago.
My mum gave me The Sheperd’s Crown for Christmas, but I won’t read it yet as I’ve not read any of the others with Tiffany Aching in. I have, or have read, about half of the Discworld books, so I have some catching up to do!
Since I did a plug for Library Genesis, the High Court have stopped ISPs from connecting to their website.

I am also downloading books from the free section on Smashwords. The authors may still be learning their craft, but what the heck - when you cannot visit your local library, you have to do something … …
