Kesimpta and menstrual cycle

I’ve only had 3 injections of Kesimpta but I’ve found that pms was almost non existent this month, just felt a little tired. My period came after 28 days (it’s been extremely irregular for years). The headache was bad but didn’t involve visual issues and when my period came I didn’t have cramps that would make the strongest of people cry and beg for mercy! Is there anyone else with similar experiences? I was told by gynae that my period issues and MS were not related…

It didn’t do that to me. But it’s really hard to tell whether symptoms are related to MS/related to MS treatment/unrelated.

It’s a definite coincidence that your period has changed I wouldn’t say it’s not linked but maybe time will tell in the next few cycles. I’ve read that ms can make your periods worse so maybe the treatment is bringing it to a level that is normal for non ms folk?

I was interested in what you said about headaches I always get a god awful one right at the beginning and I definately get a slight change in vision.

I’m really hoping something has sorted it. Because this has been the easiest time I’ve had in a very long time!

The headache is unbelievable, its so intense and then as soon as the next cycle begins it just goes and I can see again.

Kesimpta is meant to reduce inflammation, I wonder if it does it overall maybe.

fingers crossed that’s one part of my life that continues to get easier

Also @Fatgirlthin83 do you find that painkillers do anything for your headache? I take ibuprofen and paracetamol and nothing. Is there anything you’ve tried that’s worked?

Take the win I say periods are horrible at the best of times so I’m glad you are feeling ok on it!

Yes nothing touches it, I know I’m coming on as it starts the day before. The worst day coincides with extremely heavy bleeding then it starts to taper off a bit.

As the saying goes (or doesn’t): Take the smooth with the rough! I hope that this unexpected nice side effect continues.
